Certification Continuation

Freelance Interpreters are annually required to have a Criminal Background Check (AOC-INT-4) (968KB-PDF). and update their Information Form (AOC-INT-5) (108KB-PDF).

Both certified and qualified interpreters must complete 20 hours of approved continuing education programs every three years. The AOC requires verification of attendance or participation through the completion of the Continuing Education Form (AOC-INT-2) (178KB-PDF).

Both certified and qualified interpreters are required to complete 24 hours of court observation or court interpreting work hours every three years. The AOC requires verification of court observation hours through the completion of the Court Observation Form (20KB-PDF).
