Information Center:
Located on 1st Floor or main lobby.

First Aid Service:
Located in the Sheriff's Office, northeast side of the 1st Floor.

Foreign Language Interpreter:
All departments within the Circuit Court Clerk's Office have access to over-the-phone foreign language interpretation service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Handicap Accessible:
There are two elevators. There are also ramps for handicapped access to the building.

Pedway:
There is a connecting walkway between the Hall of Justice and the Judicial Center located on the north side of the 2nd Floor of the Hall of Justice and the south side of the Judicial Center.

Security:
Entrances have magnetometer security systems to assist in the detection of metal objects. The magnetometers are staffed by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

Cash, certified checks, cashier’s checks, money orders, and checks (in most circumstances) are accepted. American Express, Discover, and MasterCard credit cards and most debit cards are also accepted. Visa credit and debit cards are not accepted at the counter of any Kentucky Office of Circuit Court Clerk due to Visa’s convenience fee policy.

Criminal District Court and Traffic Court

Services:

  • Accepts payment of fines and court costs (court ordered and citations)
  • Posts cash and property bonds
  • Reschedules missed court dates
  • Accepts proof of citation offenses (insurance, vehicle registration, repairable traffic charges, such as headlight, muffler, cracked windshield, etc.)
  • Expungements (purging of violation after five years have passed from date of final disposition)
  • Accepts proof of volunteer work in lieu of fine payments by order of court releases liens for property bonds and returns cash bonds
  • Provides information regarding recent arrests

  • Guardianship and Mental Inquest Petitions for individuals over the age of 18 for guardianship.
  • Financial and Annual Reports on guardianship cases.
  • Mental Inquest warrants are filed on adults with mental illnesses. Processed 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. After hours, warrants are filed on the 1st Floor, Hall of Justice, Criminal/Traffic Division.

Other Information:
Filing Fees: (Subject to change without notice) 5% fee on all restitution payments. All copy work is 25¢ per copy. All certified copies are $5.00 per document. All juvenile cases are confidential. Juvenile information may be obtained in person with an ID if you are a party to the case. Non-Support cases are public record.

Acceptable Forms of Payment: Juvenile Non-Support

Paying in Person

Cash, certified checks, cashier’s checks, money orders, and checks (in most circumstances) are accepted. Personal checks are accepted for everything except Juvenile Restitution Payments. For Juvenile Restitution Payments, we accept cash, certified checks, money orders, and cashier checks. American Express, Discover, and MasterCard credit cards are accepted. Visa and MasterCard debit cards are also accepted.
