Capital Construction AP Revisions

The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) invites public comment on proposed revisions to the Kentucky Court of Justice Rules of Administrative Procedure (AP) Part X: Real Property Management, Section I. Under the revised AP Part X, the AOC will require that local units of government use ConsensusDOCS construction contracts, as modified by the AOC, when contracting with construction managers, design professionals, and general contractors for design or construction services. Current ConsensusDOCS contracts can be purchased at www.consensusdocs.org. The comment period will close on February 24, 2012. These proposed changes are in draft format only and will not take effect until approved by the Chief Justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court.

The Kentucky Court of Justice has earned a national reputation for its efforts to create a process that would fairly and objectively assess court facility needs. The innovative and progressive Facilities Management System (FMS) ensures that tax dollars are spent wisely by identifying the facilities with the greatest needs for new construction, renovation, expansion and adaptation.

The Administrative Office of the Courts develops court facility projects in accordance with the Kentucky Court of Justice Rules of Administrative Procedure, Part X: Real Property Management, Sections I, II, III and IV (May 2007).
